Christlike. Husband. Father. Entrepreneur.
I'm Aaron Barker, an executive business coach for owners and leaders who built something real and hit a ceiling.

You built something real. Let's grow the one who built it.
I'm Aaron Barker. I started in sales at 17, selling books door to door for the summer. A lot of those doors closed in my face. One day I sat down on a curb and wondered if I was cut out for this. Right there I decided I never quit.
That decision carried me a long way. It also cost me. For years I pushed through by stuffing everything down. I won awards and grew my income. In my first year of marriage I was working until 9 most nights. My wife told me something had to change. She was right. I was angry all the time, and I didn't know what to do with what I felt.
Then I had a stroke. I spent nine days in the ICU, and because of pandemic rules my wife couldn't visit. I couldn't control much in that hospital bed, so I did pushups to fall asleep. I learned there that confidence comes from controllables.
Along the way I saw what good leadership looks like. A boss doubled my pay the day I told him I wasn't making enough. A mentor called me and asked how I'd like to coach for a living. That question changed my direction. Today I coach business owners and leaders.
I'm an ACC certified coach through the International Coaching Federation. My faith shapes how I live and how I coach. It is offered gently, never pushed.
I tell the truth, plainly and kindly. I ask before I challenge, and I won't let you settle. I care most about who you're becoming. When the inside matches the outside, the business follows.
My life has an order, and it's the headline on this page. I follow Christ first. Then I'm a husband, then a father, then an entrepreneur. When I keep that order, the rest grows with it.

Three tenets
Tell the Truth
I say the real thing, plainly and kindly. I ask before I challenge, and I won't let you settle.
Grow the Person First
Identity before activity. When the inside matches the outside, the business follows.
Partner Every Step
We go first. You set the pace, and you make the call on every next step.
